- A joint Oregon–Washington hearing on Sept. 23 opened Chinook retention Sept. 26–27 from Buoy 10 to the Highway 395 bridge at Pasco, and unmarked coho from the west Puget Island line to Pasco from Sept. 26 through Oct. 15.
- ODFW tightened Snake River bags from the Oregon–Washington line up to 400 feet below Hells Canyon Dam starting Sept. 23: hatchery Chinook only, three adult hatchery kings through Oct. 31, and two hatchery steelhead through Dec. 31.
- ODFW closed fall Chinook from the Hwy 730 bridge up to Threemile Dam on the Umatilla from Sept. 22 through Nov. 30, 2026, after in-season forecasts dropped below the 1,458 preseason adult return to protect hatchery broodstock.
- NMFS reopened non-mark-selective coho retention from Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain for two days only — Sunday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 26 — after managers counted 4,761 fish still on the 25,700 quota.
- ODFW’s weekly trout schedule for Sept. 14–18 lists 3,600 legals at North Fork Reservoir, 3,000 at Foster, and thousands more across the Klamath lakes, Clackamas ponds, and Tillamook-area trophy plants. Dates can slip — check the Recreation Report.
- ODFW and NMFS closed recreational coho retention from Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12. The stretch stays open for Chinook (24-inch minimum) two a day through Oct. 31.
- NMFS and the states, noticed Sept. 3, cut the Cape Falcon–Humbug Mountain September recreational non-mark-selective coho quota by 1,800 fish to 25,700 after the summer mark-selective coho fishery overran.
- NMFS and the states, noticed Sept. 8, cut the Cape Falcon–Humbug Mountain ocean commercial troll weekly coho landing limit to 50 fish per vessel effective 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 — about half the coho quota still left.
- NMFS and the states reopened the Cape Falcon–Leadbetter Point ocean recreational salmon fishery for five days of marked coho; that window ends at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026 — Chinook retention stays off.
