New York's next Free Fishing Day is Veterans Day, Nov. 11

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) says Wednesday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day, is a statewide Free Fishing Day. Anyone can fish New York's fresh waters that day without a license.

All other fishing regulations remain in effect, including seasons, size limits and creel limits. To help new anglers find places to fish and check the rules, DEC points to the Tackle Box feature in its HuntFishNY app.
