- MDMR’s director order opens the 2026–2027 public oyster season at legal sunrise Oct. 1 in Area I B, Area II B, Area II E, and Area V A, if opening criteria are met. Sundays stay closed.
- MDMR reopened private and state for-hire red snapper Sept. 4–7 at two fish, 16 inches, then Friday–Sunday only until the private ACL is projected met — Tails n’ Scales and an MS-ROLP required.
