WDFW extends Skagit and Cascade river coho fishing through Nov. 15

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has extended salmon fishing on the Skagit and Cascade rivers from Nov. 1 through Nov. 15, according to an emergency rule posted Oct. 30. The department said the recreational coho catch share has not been reached yet.

On the Cascade River, from the mouth to the Rockport-Cascade Road Bridge, the daily limit is 4 coho, with a 12-inch minimum size. On the Skagit River, from the mouth to the Cascade River Road (Marblemount Bridge), the limit is 2 coho, with the same 12-inch minimum.

Anglers must release all other salmon and all Dolly Varden and bull trout. Night closure is in effect for all species. WDFW said the fishery could close early if the catch share is reached, so check the emergency rules before heading out.
