Utah raises the Woods Ranch Pond limit to 8 fish ahead of a dredging drawdown
The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) issued an emergency change for Woods Ranch Pond, a community fishery in Iron County. From Nov. 2 through Dec. 31, 2026, anglers may keep 8 fish a day there.
The pond is being drawn down so the county can dredge it, and DWR expects that to cause a complete fish kill. The higher limit lets anglers take home fish that would otherwise die.
All other rules in the Utah fishing guidebook still apply at the pond. Riley Peck signed the order for DWR.
