About 70,000 bluegill fingerlings go into Brady Creek Reservoir
Brady Creek Reservoir received about 70,000 bluegill sunfish fingerlings on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026. San Angelo LIVE reported the plant that afternoon and attributed it to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Inland Fisheries office in San Angelo, which stocks public waters around the Concho Valley.
The same report says the reservoir, a few miles west of Brady, also received 39,000 Lone Star bass fingerlings in May. The lake has been rebuilding since a golden alga bloom in 2012 and several years of low water. Largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, and white bass are the species the story lists in the lake, and it says TPWD rates the fishing as fair.
