New England’s U.S.–Canada steering committee meets Oct. 16 in Boston

New England’s transboundary groundfish group has its own October meeting, separate from the specifications webinar already on the calendar. A Federal Register notice published Oct. 2, 2026, schedules the New England Fishery Management Council’s United States/Canada Steering Committee for Friday, Oct. 16, at 8:30 a.m. EDT.

The room is the Marriott Boston Downtown/North Station, 107 Beverly Street, Boston. A webinar registration link is in the notice. The committee will review material from the Species at Risk Working Group and the Transboundary Management Guidance Committee, plan the 2027 TMGC and steering-committee meetings, and look at plans for a review of the TMGC process. Recommendations go to the full Council before they become an action. The notice says the meeting will be recorded.

The Council office is 50 Water Street, Mill 2, Newburyport. Executive director Cate O’Keefe is the contact at (978) 465-0492. Requests for sign language or other aids should reach her at least five days ahead. This is the Oct. 16 U.S.–Canada session, not the Joint Groundfish Committee and Advisory Panel webinar already filed for Oct. 19 on Framework 74.
