Palm Beach–Jupiter inshore: seawall snook and ICW tarpon on live bait

US FishingFlorida

Capt. Craig Korczynski of Phlats Guide Services says very high tides and steady wind have snook roaming seawalls and docks around Palm Beach and Jupiter, chasing bait schools. His Oct. 27 report puts most fish at 15 to 25 inches. Live bait and the Rapala Skitter V topwater have drawn the most strikes.

Tarpon fishing picked up a little over the past week in the Intracoastal Waterway. Small live baits free-lined with the tide are getting the most bites, and cleaner water with strong current is holding the schools.

Jack crevalle, Spanish mackerel and bluefish are in the deep channels and on the flats, hitting live bait and DOA Curl Tails on both tides. When conditions get rough, Korczynski says shrimp on the bottom produces mangrove, lane and mutton snapper, plus grunts, parrotfish and moonfish.
