NorCal Saturday: 72 kings, Monterey’s 18 bluefin, and rockfish piles at Berkeley and Emeryville
Saturday’s Northern California landings were a salmon-and-rockfish day, with a small bluefin stop in Monterey. NorCal Fish Reports’ Oct. 17, 2026, dock sheet lists 72 king salmon: 20 on Happy Hooker’s Pacific Dream for 12 anglers on a Marin Coast trip, 15 on Berkeley Charter Boats’ New Easy Rider for 18 anglers, and 37 at Fish Emeryville.
Emeryville’s kings were split across five boats. KingFish had 13 for 17 anglers. Pacific Pearl and Scallywag each had 7. C Gull II and Diamond each had 5. C Gull II also kept 1 striped bass. Heisen Sturg released 12 white sturgeon. Here We Go’s six anglers kept 3 bluefin. The Emeryville landing total is 11 boats, 130 anglers, 702 rockfish, and 93 lingcod, plus those salmon and tuna.
Berkeley’s California Dawn II, 57 anglers on a full day, kept 570 rockfish, 500 sanddab, 114 lingcod, and 3 Pacific bonito. The Happy Hooker boat itself, 17 anglers, stayed on the bottom: 150 rockfish and 23 lingcod. Farther down the coast, Chris’ Fishing Trips in Monterey put 450 rockfish on Caroline and Check Mate. J&M’s New Horizon half-day kept 16 bluefin for 9 anglers, and Kahuna added 2 bluefin. Half Moon Bay’s Queen of Hearts and Riptide combined for 320 rockfish on deep-reef trips. These are Saturday counts, separate from Friday’s NorCal sheet already on the desk.
