Davey’s Locker Sunday: 488 bonito and 60 yellowfin

Davey’s Locker’s Sunday count is a bonito dock with a small yellowfin trip mixed in. SoCal Fish Reports’ Oct. 4, 2026 boat sheet lists 3 boats and 4 trips for 128 anglers. The afternoon total was 488 bonito, 60 yellowfin tuna, 35 sand bass, 27 calico bass, 4 sheephead, 4 whitefish, 4 skipjack tuna, 3 bullet tuna, 2 yellowtail, 2 dorado, 1 blue perch, and 1 barracuda.

Blackfish’s full day, 6 anglers, carried the tuna: 60 yellowfin, 4 skipjack, and 2 dorado. Freelance’s three-quarter day, 37 anglers, put up 185 bonito, 13 sand bass, 3 bullet tuna, 2 yellowtail, 2 whitefish, 1 barracuda, and 1 sheephead. Western Pride ran two half-days. The morning boat, 47 anglers, led the bonito with 225, plus 20 sand bass, 6 calico bass, 3 sheephead, and 2 whitefish. The afternoon boat, 38 anglers, added 78 bonito, 21 calico bass, 2 sand bass, and 1 blue perch.

This is Davey’s Sunday sheet, not Newport Landing’s Patriot and Thunderbird trips the same afternoon, and not the Sept. 30 Davey’s bonito and bullet-tuna count already filed.
