- NJDEP Fish & Wildlife’s 2026 fall trout schedule begins Tuesday, Oct. 13, for about two weeks: ~29,000 two-year-old rainbows 14–16 inches plus up to 1,000 broodstock. Low water shifts fish off parts of the Big Flat Brook, Black River, Rockaway, and Wallkill.
- NJ Fish & Wildlife’s 2026 Marine Digest keeps black sea bass at one fish, 12.5 inches, through Sept. 22, then 10 fish from Sept. 23 through Oct. 31 — the mid-month turn anglers have been waiting on.
