Trixie’s 334-pound black marlin pays a record $1.59 million at Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore

The heaviest marlin did not win the most money at the 2026 Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Bisbee’s posted its awards report Oct. 18. It says Team Trixie, a 53-foot Scout run by Capt. Erick Carmack, placed third overall with a 334-pound black marlin. That fish swept every Day 1 and Day 2 daily billfish jackpot, and the team’s check came to $1,589,007. Bisbee’s calls it the largest single payout in the tournament’s history.
Tiki Perro Pescador, a 48-foot Ocean based in Cabo, won Top Tournament Team with a 350-pound blue marlin caught on the last afternoon. It was worth $131,559. Loose Crew, on a 41-foot Luhrs with Capt. Ed McClintock, finished second with a 347-pound blue marlin, 3 pounds short. With two daily jackpots, Loose Crew won $183,893.
In the other divisions, Linda Gale won the release division with 1,275 points for four blue marlin and three sailfish, worth $129,200. True Grit won the Day 3 release jackpot, $64,600. Caliente weighed the heaviest yellowfin tuna, 259 pounds. Prime Time’s 46.5-pound dorado, the only qualifying dorado weighed, paid $148,020.
The event had 122 teams and 758 anglers fishing for $2,394,300. The fleet caught 226 billfish: 119 striped marlin, 76 sailfish, 29 blue marlin and five black marlin. Only six marlin were weighed. Tournament director Wayne Bisbee said the fleet “dodged the storm.” The Black & Blue is next on Bisbee’s schedule.
