Virginia’s Thursday trout plants: South River, Staley Creek, and the upper Middle Fork Holston

Thursday’s Virginia trout trucks are a separate list from the Friday plants already on the desk. The Department of Wildlife Resources daily stocking schedule shows four waters for Oct. 15, 2026.

South River at Grottoes in Rockingham County, a category A water, got rainbow trout and brown trout. South River at Ridgeview Park in Augusta County, also category A, got brown trout. Staley Creek in Smyth County, category A, got rainbow trout. The upper Middle Fork Holston River in Smyth County, category B, got rainbow trout.

DWR says announced stockings can be moved for weather, equipment failure, staff shortages, or other problems. The access notes on that same page, including Lovill’s Creek and Mint Springs, are already filed and are not repeated here.

This is a The Gillnet news desk summary, not a reprint.
