Utah’s Oct. 15 plants: 2,013 rainbows at Jackson Flat, 2,530 at upper Sand Cove
Southern Utah picked up two catchable rainbow plants on Thursday. The Division of Wildlife Resources public stocking report lists Jackson Flat Reservoir in Kane County with 2,013 rainbow trout on Oct. 15, 2026, at an average length of 9.92 inches. The same day’s other rainbow load is upper Sand Cove Reservoir in Washington County: 2,530 fish, also averaging 9.92 inches.
Those are the only Oct. 15 rows on the statewide stocking table checked Saturday. Jackson Flat’s earlier 2026 rainbow plant on that same table was 407 fish at 14.68 inches on April 8. The Oct. 15 fish are the smaller, catchable size.
DWR’s report is the hatchery record of what was stocked, not a bite forecast. Both waters are in the state’s southwest corner, Jackson Flat near Kanab and upper Sand Cove in Washington County.
