Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission meets Oct. 8–9 on black bass plan

The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission meets Oct. 8–9 at the Bruton Smith Building at Bristol Motor Speedway. TWRA announced the session Oct. 1.

Committees meet Thursday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. EDT. The full Commission meets Friday at 9 a.m. Fisheries will present the final draft of the Tennessee Black Bass Management Plan for 2027–36. That draft has been out for public comment since an August preview. Staff will also preview a new Tennessee Trout Management Plan. The current trout plan expires in 2027.

The meeting is on the TWRA YouTube channel. The rest of the agenda includes a Helene recovery update, a civil rights review, recognition of the Gatlinburg bear partnership, and the SEAFWA officer of the year.
