Rhode Island closes Keech Pond and Wilson Reservoir ramps for rebuilds
Two northern Rhode Island launches are coming out of service for a rebuild. The Division of Fish and Wildlife’s current operational note says new boat ramps are coming to Keech Pond in Glocester and Wilson Reservoir in Burrillville, with completion expected in early spring 2027. The new ramps are meant to improve access and give boaters and paddlers safer launches, and the project includes new seasonal floating docks.
Starting this October, the parking area and the ramps at those waters are closed while crews build. The division asks people to hold off until the work is done. Questions go to dem.projects@dem.ri.gov.
This is the ramp closure, not a change to freshwater bag limits. The same Fish and Wildlife page also lists Great Swamp shooting-range work this week. That notice is separate from the pond and reservoir launches.
This is a The Gillnet news desk summary, not a reprint.
