Nebraska posts the rest of its October rainbow trout plant schedule

Nebraska’s fall trout trucks are still rolling. Daryl Bauer, fisheries outreach program manager, wrote in Nebraskaland Magazine on Oct. 16, 2026, that catchable 12-inch rainbow trout are going in across the state and that the commission has adjusted the rest of the schedule. A Game and Parks note carried by The Outdoor Wire on Oct. 14 says the update affects several locations and that dates can change for weather or other problems.

The week of Oct. 19 on that list includes Grove Lake at Royal (1,000), Birdwood Lake at North Platte (1,500), Chappell Interstate Pond (2,250), Rock Creek Lake at Parks (2,500), Lake Halleck at Papillion (1,200), and East Branch Verdigre Creek at Royal (200), among other ponds. The week of Oct. 26 lists Lake Helen at Gothenburg (1,600), Plum Creek Park Lake at Lexington (660), Holdrege City Lake (1,300), North Morrill Pond (1,500), and smaller plants at the Middle and South Morrill ponds, plus another 200 fish at East Branch Verdigre Creek.

The week of Oct. 12 on the same update includes Holmes Lake in Lincoln (2,500), Kramer Lake at American Heroes Park in Bellevue (2,000), Ta-Ha-Zouka Park Lake in Norfolk (1,500), and CenturyLink Lake at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park (1,200). Bauer points anglers back to the full fall list on the Game and Parks trout-stocking page, which says planned dates can move and that the fish-stocking database is the place to confirm what has already gone in.
