Lake Winnie’s Oct. 16 report: walleyes in 6 to 9 feet at Third River and the River Bar

Fall is on Lake Winnibigoshish. The Scoop from Lake Winnibigoshish posted an Oct. 16, 2026, report from Captain Jeff Johnson of Northern Drift Outfitters. It says fishing has been steady as water temperatures keep falling with cool mornings.

Walleyes are showing in good numbers around the Third River Flowage and the River Bar. The depth is 6 to 9 feet, in the weeds and just outside them. Crappies are also biting. Jig and minnow is the primary tactic listed for both.
