Kentucky’s seasonal catch-and-release trout streams open Oct. 1 through March 31
Kentucky’s seasonal trout streams are in their no-harvest window. The Department of Fish and Wildlife’s seasonal catch-and-release page says these waters are catch-and-release from Oct. 1 through March 31. Only artificial baits may be used in that season. Statewide regulations apply April through September.
The list on that page is 14 streams, with the reach and mileage spelled out:
- Bark Camp Creek, Whitley County, mouth to USFS Road No. 193, 3.9 miles
- Beaver Creek, Wayne County, Hwy 90 bridge upstream to Hwy 200, 2.8 miles
- Big Bone Creek, Boone County, inside Big Bone Lick State Park, 2.1 miles
- Cane Creek, Laurel County, mouth to the Middle Fork confluence, 6.6 miles
- Casey Creek, Trigg County, mouth to a private road bridge 3.6 miles upstream
- Clear Creek, Bell County, Hwy 190 bridge downstream to the mouth, 4.5 miles
- East Fork of Indian Creek, Menifee County, mouth to Morgan Hollow, 5.3 miles
- Elk Spring Creek, Wayne County, mouth upstream to the upper end of Monticello Park, 2.8 miles
- Floyds Fork, Jefferson County, US-60 bridge downstream to US-150, 20.0 miles
- Gunpowder Creek, Boone County, inside Sperty Park, 1.5 miles
- Otter Creek, Meade County, Fort Knox and Otter Creek Park, 12.4 miles
- Rock Creek, McCreary County, Bell Farm bridge upstream to the Tennessee border, 9.8 miles
- Swift Camp Creek, Wolfe County, inside the Clifty Wilderness Area, 8.0 miles
- Trammel Fork, Allen County, from the mouth of Little Trammel Creek upstream to Blankenship Road Bridge, 3.5 miles
