Delaware stocks about 1,000 pounds of rainbow trout in White Clay Creek

Upstate Delaware trout anglers have fresh fish. The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control stocked about 1,000 pounds of rainbow trout in White Clay Creek in northern New Castle County on Oct. 21. The fish went in from near the Pennsylvania state line downstream to Newark, for fishing through fall and winter.
A Delaware fishing license is required unless an angler is exempt, and exempt anglers still need a free Fisherman Identification Network (FIN) number. A Delaware trout stamp is required through Nov. 30 on White Clay Creek and the other designated trout streams stocked earlier this year.
Fishing hours run from a half-hour before sunrise to a half-hour after sunset. The daily possession limit is six trout, or four in or within 50 feet of the creek's fly-fishing-only section. The program is paid for by trout stamp sales and federal Sport Fish Restoration funds.
