Connecticut’s Oct. 16 sheet adds Mohawk Pond, Black Pond, and Bunnells Pond

US FishingConnecticut

Connecticut’s fall trout sheet picked up three Friday plants. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Fisheries Division PDF, updated as of Oct. 16, 2026, marks Mohawk Pond, a trout management lake in Cornwall and Goshen, as stocked on Oct. 16. Black Pond, the trout management lake in Woodstock, is marked Oct. 16 and Oct. 14. Bunnells Pond, also called Beardsley Park Pond, a community fishing water in Bridgeport, is marked Oct. 16.

The same update shows a longer Thursday list dated Oct. 15: Black Rock Pond in Watertown, Cedar Lake in Chester, Chatfield Hollow Pond in Killingworth, Colony Park Pond in Ansonia, Day Pond in Colchester, Great Hollow Lake at Wolfe Park in Monroe, McGovern Pond in West Hartford, the Pequonnock River in the Trumbull Basin, Pickett’s Pond in Derby, and Quonnipaug Lake in Guilford. Several of those also carry an earlier October date.

The fall plan on the sheet is unchanged from earlier in the week: more than 60,000 trout, more than half longer than 12 inches, and more than 2,000 Atlantic salmon, across 38 lakes and ponds and 37 river and stream sections. DEEP says not every site is stocked on every run and that the list can change. Salmon tags this year are yellow. The interactive stocking map is the check before a trip.

This is a The Gillnet news desk summary, not a reprint.
