Connecticut’s Oct. 13 sheet adds a week of trout plants and yellow-tagged salmon
Connecticut’s fall trout and salmon trucks were still rolling as of Oct. 13, 2026. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Fisheries Division update says the fall plan remains more than 60,000 trout, with more than half longer than 12 inches, and more than 2,000 Atlantic salmon, spread across 38 lakes and ponds and 37 river and stream sections. Brook, brown, rainbow, and tiger trout are on the list.
The sheet asks anglers to report salmon. DEEP tagged them again so staff can track movement, and this year’s tags are yellow. Reports go to matthew.devine@ct.gov, to 860-424-4001, or through the online form linked on the stocking PDF.
Waters marked stocked on Oct. 13 include Angus Park Pond and Roaring Brook in Glastonbury, the Hockanum River trout management area in Manchester, the Mill River at Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden, the Pequabuck River in Bristol, the Pequonnock River in the Trumbull Basin, and the Pomperaug River trophy trout area in Woodbury and Southbury. Non-residents parking in Trumbull town parks need a permit; the sheet says to call Trumbull Parks and Recreation at 203-452-5060 and to bring a license, vehicle registration, and photo ID.
Atlantic salmon already logged on the same table include Crystal Lake in Ellington on Oct. 7, Mount Tom Pond on Oct. 7, both listed Naugatuck River reaches on Oct. 9, and the Shetucket River on Oct. 6, with trout following on the Shetucket on Oct. 9. DEEP says conditions can change the list, and not every river site is stocked on every run. The interactive stocking map is the check before a trip. Questions on the program go to matthew.devine@ct.gov.
