CDFW SHARE opens North Fork Battle Creek private-access draws for October

CDFW’s SHARE Fishing program is offering limited three-day access permits on a newly listed North Fork Battle Creek property in Shasta County. Event windows are Oct. 9–11, Oct. 16–18, and Oct. 23–25, 2026; each date needs its own application.

Successful applicants get nearly a mile of creek that is not open to the public. The fishery is catch-and-release only with artificial lures and barbless hooks; a current California fishing license is required. Draws run about 16–17 days before each event.

Applications are sold through Online License Sales, CDFW license offices, retail agents, or (800) 565-1458. Winners must return a signed SHARE liability waiver and proof of license to confirm the spot. CDFW’s October calendar, posted Sept. 29, put the Battle Creek SHARE dates on the statewide agenda as fall fishing ramps up.
