Dana Wharf Wednesday: sand bass and calico with a short yellowfin bite
Dana Wharf Sportfishing’s Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, Dana Point dock mixed inshore bass with a short offshore tuna stop. SoCal Fish Reports lists 3 boats and 3 trips for 71 anglers, as of 2:30 p.m. Kept fish totaled 25 calico bass, 20 sand bass, 16 whitefish, 10 bullet tuna, 10 yellowfin tuna, 8 sheephead, 6 bonito, and 1 sargo, plus 165 calico and 53 sand bass released.
Clemente’s morning half-day, 35 anglers, led the local bass: 22 calico and 18 sand bass kept, with heavy releases, plus whitefish, sheephead, and bonito. Dana Pride’s three-quarter day, 24 anglers, was the tuna trip — 10 bullet tuna and 10 yellowfin. Helena’s morning half-day, 12 anglers, released most of its calico and sand bass while keeping a few bass and a sheephead.
