Dana Wharf Sunday: 561 bonito inshore, 107 yellowfin outside

Dana Wharf Sportfishing’s Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, Dana Point dock split between inshore bonito and offshore tuna. SoCal Fish Reports lists 9 boats and 11 trips for 244 anglers. The landing total was 561 bonito, 446 bullet tuna, 107 yellowfin tuna, 18 calico bass, 18 sand bass, 11 sheephead, 8 yellowtail, 7 skipjack, 1 barracuda, and 1 whitefish, plus 480 calico bass released.

The outside boats made the tuna count. Dana Pride’s three-quarter-day, 30 anglers, landed 52 yellowfin, 140 bullet tuna, and 4 skipjack. Fury’s overnight, 22 anglers, landed 180 bullet tuna, 10 yellowfin, and 3 skipjack. Lex Sea’s full day, 4 anglers, was 40 yellowfin. Reel Fun’s three-quarter-day, 29 anglers, added 115 bullet tuna and 2 yellowfin. Second Chance’s three-quarter-day, 3 anglers, finished with 10 bullet tuna and 3 yellowfin.

The half-days and Clemente stacked bonito and released calico. Sum Fun’s morning half-day, 33 anglers, landed 165 bonito, 1 bullet tuna, 1 barracuda, and 1 sand bass, and released 95 calico. The afternoon trip, 45 anglers, added 58 bonito, 1 yellowtail, and 2 calico kept, with 85 calico released. Helena’s morning half-day, 25 anglers, landed 125 bonito, 2 calico, and 2 sheephead. The afternoon trip, 20 anglers, added 48 bonito, 6 calico, and 4 yellowtail, and released 100 calico. Clemente’s three-quarter-day, 27 anglers, landed 135 bonito, 14 sand bass, 8 calico, 5 sheephead, 3 yellowtail, and 1 whitefish, and released 200 calico.
