Berkeley Tuesday: California Dawn finishes with 18 kings to 22 pounds

Capt. James Smith of California Dawn filed a Sept. 29, 2026, NorCal Fish Reports note from Berkeley Marina. The boat finished with 18 king salmon, the largest to 22 pounds.

Smith wrote that the lost-fish rate was higher than normal, and that there were still plenty of opportunities. He noted the commercial salmon season ends that day, and that fish might get a bit more aggressive the next morning. The boat had room on the morning trip. Reservations are listed at (510) 417-5557. California Dawn operates from Berkeley Marina.

This is the boat’s own Sept. 29 report, separate from Monday’s Berkeley and Sausalito king-salmon dock brief already on the desk.
