Blue Sheet fetched Oct. 18: Alaska’s commercial salmon harvest is 88.6 million fish
The late-season Blue Sheet has moved. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game’s preliminary commercial salmon harvest page, fetched Oct. 18, 2026, lists a statewide total of 88,624 thousand fish. Figures are in thousands of fish. The department says the estimates refresh twice a day, leave out confidential catch, and can still change.
The statewide line reads Chinook 181, chum 11,471, coho 1,566, pink 37,716, and sockeye 37,690. The desk’s Sept. 24 fetch of the same sheet was 87,513 thousand, with chum at 10,949 and coho at 1,495. Chum is the species that climbed the most between those two reads. Pinks are a bit higher than that late-September snapshot, and sockeye is up only slightly.
Southeast’s region total is 28,317 thousand, including 17,571 thousand pinks, 9,237 thousand chum, 813 thousand coho, 525 thousand sockeye, and 171 thousand Chinook. Bristol Bay is still the sockeye block: 29,678 thousand sockeye inside a bay total of 29,960 thousand salmon. Prince William Sound’s total on the same sheet is 5,452 thousand. Kodiak’s is 14,751 thousand, most of it pinks. The department’s statewide row is the figure that already sums the sheet.
