Rhode Island stocks brook and rainbow trout at six northern waters

US FishingRhode Island

Rhode Island is putting brook and rainbow trout in the water this week. The Valley Breeze, citing the Department of Environmental Management, reported Oct. 1 that stocking starts Friday and continues through Thursday.

Six northern waters are on the list: the Blackstone River in Lincoln; Olney Pond at Lincoln Woods State Park in Lincoln; Round Top Ponds in Burrillville; Shippee Sawmill Pond in Foster; Spring Grove Pond in Glocester; and Hope’s Upper Pawtuxet in Scituate.

DEM posts updates at dem.ri.gov/troutwaters and dem.ri.gov/fishing. Check those pages before you pick a pond. The truck schedule can move.
