Ohio stocks 1,500 juvenile lake sturgeon in the Cuyahoga River
Ohio put about 1,500 juvenile lake sturgeon in the Cuyahoga River. Outdoor News reported the plant Oct. 1, citing Eric Weimer, fisheries biologist supervisor at the Sandusky Fisheries Research Station, who leads the sturgeon reintroduction.
The plan is to stock 1,500 fish a year for the foreseeable future. Weimer said biologists are encouraged by how the effort is going.
