Indiana’s 2026 fall channel catfish plan stocks 8- to 10-inch fish through mid-November
Indiana’s fall channel catfish trucks are in their stocking window. The Department of Natural Resources’ 2026 Fall Channel Catfish Stocking Plan says the planned window is mid-September through mid-November, and the fish are 8 to 10 inches long. Every count on the sheet is a target. Actual numbers can change with production, access, weather, and other factors.
The plan is a county-by-county list, not a single hatchery total. Targets on the public copy include 250 at Kekionga Pond in Adams County, 2,700 at Wampler Pit in Greene County, 2,320 at Starve Hollow Lake, 1,664 at Griffy Lake in Monroe County, 2,200 at Westler Lake in LaGrange County, and 2,899 at Bischoff Reservoir in Batesville. Smaller park ponds sit on the same list, including 250 at Central Park Pond in Hamilton County and 140 at McCord Square Park Pond in Hancock County.
This is a different program from the August Trail Creek king-salmon note already on the desk. Call the water or check the live PDF before you treat a printed number as the fish that went in the truck that day.
