Connecticut stocks the Salmon River and six other waters on Oct. 2

US FishingConnecticut

Connecticut’s fall trout trucks hit the Salmon River on Oct. 2. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Fisheries Division stocking update dated that day says trophy brook trout and bruiser rainbow trout went into the Salmon River, along with a few other waters. The fall plan is still more than 60,000 trout and more than 2,000 Atlantic salmon across 38 lakes and ponds and 37 river and stream sections.

The stocked column marks Oct. 2 on the Salmon River trophy-trout area in Colchester and East Hampton, the Salmon River trout-management area in Colchester, Black Pond in Middlefield and Meriden, Roseland Lake in Woodstock, Wharton Brook Pond in Wallingford, Mashamoquet Brook in Pomfret, and Beaver Brook Park Pond (Bibbins Pond) in Windham. DEEP’s Daily Cast does not split species for every one of those stops.

Not every listed water gets fish on every run, and the sheet can change. Use the interactive stocking map before you drive. Questions go to matthew.devine@ct.gov. This is the Oct. 2 run, not the Oct. 1 Farmington, Quinnipiac, Blackberry, and Highland Lake plants already on the desk.

This is a The Gillnet news desk summary, not a reprint.
